Charlotte, MI: November 24, the Saturday following the crazy Black Friday, belongs to the small businesses of the community. After the dust has settled from the rush to the big box stores, the lights turn on and the doors swing open in Charlotte’s local shops to provide the shopper with not only deals, but moreover experiences to cherish and share. From discounts and pop-up shops, to cider and donuts, to children’s activities and holiday characters, Small Business Saturday is no ordinary day, and most definitely demonstrates that “small business” is an understatement.
With over 30 small businesses and plenty of pop-up vendors ready for the day, the local shopper can find nearly everything they can imagine – home décor, a new outfit, a tasty meal, a children’s toy, and so much more. And as Kellie Hanford of Lansing’s Small Business Development Center reminds us, “Buying local makes a difference in the success of independent businesses with keeping over 50% of the money in the community.”
Furthermore, the evening kicks off with the Charlotte Chamber’s Lighted Parade and Tree Lighting at 6:00pm. More information regarding specific activities, events, and deals will be released on Facebook as November 24 approaches.
